Opinion On Religion In School

As my opinion on weather or not religion should be taught in school or not is that religion should not be in school some people might say that we should understand different religions to understand the history of the United States of America. Although that might be true I think it would cause confusion to those who have a certain religion, which might case fights in school or problems in the streets and in the households. Like Atheists and how they have no awareness of the existence of God. Now if it is spoken this could lead to unknown questions as well as Jews, because of centuries of Christian persecution, tend to oppose government involvement in religion. The same problem has even been brought up in courts.
Public schools in New York are under the supervision of a state government agency, the State Board of Regents. In the late 1950's, Statement on Moral and Spiritual Training in the Schools." One component of the statement was a prayer to be recited by public school students. If the Supreme Court agreed with the parents, then state-mandated prayer in public schools would be unconstitutional everywhere in the U.S. But If the Supreme Court ruled decisively against the parents, then it would be pointless for anyone to initiate future lawsuits against this form of school prayer. The court upheld the claim of the parents. They ruled that the Regents' prayer was unconstitutional. Mr. Justice Black delivered the opinion of the court. http://www.religioustolerance.org/ps_prag.htm
